In mid-April, American Councils for International Education hosted faculty and administrators from Moscow’s National University of Science and Technology (MISIS) in Washington, D.C. for the first stage of a two-week professional development program that explored effective uses of technology in higher education. On the delegation’s agenda, American Councils set up meetings at institutions such as the U.S. Department of Education, Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), the University of Maryland, and The George Washington University.
On March 31, 2012, seventy-nine participants from the Near East and South Asia Undergraduate Exchange Program (NESA UGRAD) gathered at the University of Missouri for a re-entry workshop where they reflected on their study abroad experiences in the U.S., prepared for returning to their home countries, and shared their future aspirations.
On March 27th, representatives from Georgia's court system convened for the Open World Program Alumni Roundtable at the Supreme Court of Georgia's event titled: "The Introduction of the Jury Trial System in Georgia and the Open World Program." The event was inspired by the recent introduction of jury trials into Georgia.
